Heads up UU students! Ever wondered what it would be like to build a video game to change the world? We have a few late registration spots left in our BSc course ‘The Sustainability Game’! This course is open to all 2nd and 3rd year Utrecht University students who have some previous interest and background in sustainability.
The course takes place in the 3rd period, and UU students work together with teams of game development students from the Utrecht University of the Arts (HKU) to create video games that help players imagine and engage with sustainable futures. Teams build these games for experts and societal organizations who are involved in the design process. It’s a course that teaches you a lot about science communication, creative media, working with clients, and team work. And you’ll have a real life video game to show for it!
Over the years, the course has led to the development of many really unique and innovative games that really show the potential of the medium. Find the course as The Sustainability Game (GEO2-2425), don’t forget the late registration window (19 and 20 January) and send me an email (j.m.vervoort@uu.nl) if you want to already let me know you’re planning to apply or have any questions.
